Each year, Thrive hosts several student ministries, community groups, and churches to bring LIGHT + JOY to the Lonsdale community.
About LUL
We begin the evening by gathering together at Thrive Lonsdale for an authentic Guatemalan dinner and fellowship around several warm fire-pits. Then, we send groups out into the neighborhood with thousands of lights, festive decorations, and dozens of Christmas trees. These groups work together to adorn various locations that are important to the neighborhood and Thrive. It is one of our largest and most exciting events of the year and we’re thankful for the 350+ people who join us in our effort to spread the gospel of Christ and Christmas joy throughout the neighborhood.

THINGS TO KNOW
Thrive supplies each site with a starter supply box that includes tape, command hooks, power strips, extension cords, and a few boxes of lights. We HIGHLY recommend that your group bring more supplies and lights with you. Don’t forget to bring a ladder or two! (Bonus: bringing SPEAKERS will make the night so much more fun!)
One Thrive Staff member will accompany your group to your location to assist and answer any questions you might have. Additionally, the location itself will always have a staff member present.
Homemade pupusas and tamales will be available to purchase from local families. Make sure to bring cash so you can enjoy some of the most authentic Guatemalan food you’ll find in Knoxville!
